Having close links with the local community Oriel Architecture has been involved in a number public sector projects. In particular, we have a longstanding relationship with the The Gryphon School in Sherborne who we have worked with over several years on a number of projects involving extensions and conversions to provide additional classrooms and facilities for staff and students. This work requires close collaboration and an in depth understanding of the school’s stategic plan and functional needs, but the overriding aim is always to provide an outstanding learning environment with inspiring facilities and resources which are safe and healthy.

We have also worked closely with Sherborne Town Council on several projects including a new affordable housing scheme and the restoration of the Grade II listed Public Weighbridge House which sits in front of Sherborne Abbey.

Oriel Architecture has been involved with the following:

  • School extensions and alterations to provide new classrooms and facilities
  • New school / college / education buildings
  • New community / village halls, and extensions and alterations
  • New study, visitor and field centres
  • Extensions, alterations and conversions of publically-owned buildings
  • Extensions and alterations within NHS hospitals and other buildings
  • Refurbishment, alterations, extensions and replacement of Church Halls
  • Advising Parochial Church Councils about work to Ecclesiastical buildings
