The client for this project was a landscape designer with a keen interest in building design and love of contemporary architecture. She wanted a single storey extension to a much improved and spacious detached bungalow, and the brief was to create a light and airy extension to the sitting room overlooking the rear garden which was also to be re-modelled as part of the project. Timber boarding was selected to provide a contrast with the existing masonry and render, and the large slim-line bi-folding doors give the desired daylight levels and link with the garden.
